EP REVIEW: Dead Soul Alliance – Slaves To The Apocalypse

Although a couple years old I am reviewing another Dawning Septic Productions release, this time the latest EP of Dead Soul Alliance. Pure old school Death Metal worship.

The brutal grind of guitars and pummelling drums harkens back to early 90s Florida Death Metal with a meaty and bass-heavy drive of savage aggression and some occasional slower sections to break it all up. The guttural snarls and grimace-inducing guitars over drum pounding is consistent and violent with plenty of whiplash grooves for the headbangers, which I assume is most of those whom read my reviews. Pinch harmonic heavy riffs add a piercing touch to the low-end crawling riffs with some melodic lead lines occasionally soaring over the slabs of devastating heaviness. This may be nothing new but the killer musicianship and tight production is inarguably really enjoyable and they deliver exactly what I expected and do so incredibly well. Definitely a brutal EP that I think any Death Metal fans will enjoy. -7/10
